Botanical name - Ixia hybrida & Sparaxis tricolor

Position - Grows best in full sun.

Climate - Suitable for temperate, cool and Mediterranean climates. Avoid tropical regions with high summer humidity.

Planting time - Autumn to winter.

Watering - Water well after planting, then keep soil lightly moist during active growth and flowering. Reduce watering once foliage begins to die back.

Flowering time - Spring.

Fertilising - Apply a balanced fertiliser when shoots emerge to encourage strong growth and flowering.

Soil - Prefers well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Avoid heavy, waterlogged soils.

Pests - Generally trouble-free, but watch for aphids and slugs on new growth.
