Botanical Name: Anemone coronaria

Position: Full sun to part shade.

Climate: Suitable for arid, temperate, and Mediterranean climates. In warmer regions, plant bulbs up to twice the recommended depth. Protect from strong winds.

Planting Time: Autumn to winter.

Watering: Water well after planting, then weekly until shoots appear. Once established, water only during extended dry periods. Avoid overwatering, as bulbs may rot in wet soil.

Flowering Time: Late winter to spring.

Fertilising: Apply a light organic or complete fertiliser at planting. Follow with a liquid fertiliser after approximately 10 weeks.

Soil: Well-drained soil.

Pests: Protect emerging buds from snails and slugs with appropriate baiting.

Growing Tips: Soak bulbs in water for about one hour before planting to encourage faster growth. Plant with the pointed side facing down. For the best display, plant bulbs in groups. Anemones are often treated as annuals or short-lived perennials and may benefit from replanting every 1–2 years.
